2nd Sunday on King
Every month, the City of Charleston closes down most of lower King Street and makes it pedestrians-only. King Street is one of the major shopping streets on the Charleston peninsula, and it's a fun area normally--but when there are musicians playing in the street, al fresco dining, and people parading their dogs around, it's down right awesome.
We started our journey out on the corner of Queen and King, and headed up King Street. There were food trucks (Roti Rolls and Cupcake) and little food carts (hot dogs and crepes and gourmet popsicles), but we had our eyes on a bigger prize.

We somehow nabbed a free table outside of Jim and Nick's Barbecue without any wait, and Landon went inside to find us some of those amazing cheddar biscuits. Noms.
Also, can I say how much I love dining outside?!!? We've had a few days of gorgeous weather (like in the upper 70s/ lower 80s) and it felt so good to hang out in the sun.

After stuffing ourselves at Jim and Nick's, we had to put ourselves in motion and wear some of that food off. We had a great time people-watching and window-shopping, but we didn't actually buy anything. I love all of the new stores that we've got now. H&M and Anthropologie just minutes from my front door? Heaven, I tell you, heaven.
If you're ever in Charleston on the second Sunday of the month, you should check out all of the fun from noon to 5 p.m. King Street is shut down from Queen to Calhoun, so make sure you plan your parking elsewhere on the peninsula.
