Today, I'm handing the blog over to the editors at FlightHub for their take on Montreal, Canada. Located in the providence of Quebec, Montreal is Canada's second largest city and is the second largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris. With its unique mixture of French and English cultures, its stunning natural surroundings, and its thriving cultural scene, there's something for everyone in this beautiful place.

Walking through Montreal is something quite unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Sure, plenty of cities will list you all the ways in which their city is the best, and though they might think it’s true, Montreal seems to have that little magical spark that makes everyone who comes to visit instantly fall in love with it. To give you a better idea of all the ways in which you can fall in love with Montreal, FlightHub Review has compiled a list of reasons as to why this city is unlike anything other.

Fashion

Montreal has a very intricate and interesting take on fashion, but its most defining feature is that it’s effortless. Whether you’re hiking up the mountain or sipping coffee at one of the cities trendiest cafes, there’s often not a whole lot of difference between what you’re wearing for both activities. If you’re looking for a way to blend in during the winter months in Montreal, FlightHub recommends adopting the unofficial uniform: all black everything. Go from morning errand run to happy hour in the same outfit, and no one’s the wiser.

Fashion retailers both local and international find their way to the busy streets of St Catherine or St Laurent, and are frequented by many looking for the next big thing in fashion In addition to established houses, Montreal also boasts numerous fashion schools where local talent showcase their inspiration and pieces on the streets on the city.

Food

For those who don’t know, Montreal is a foodie’s heaven on earth. As the city with the most restaurants per capita in Canada and second in North America (after New York City), Montreal is where food lovers come to play. With international food festivals happening throughout the course of the year, Montrealers know how to eat, and how to eat well.

In the summer, Montrealers enjoy gourmet food trucks that line every corner and serve some of the best cuisine—from the best restaurants—while on the go. If you prefer treats from the sea, then make sure to check out Montreal’s Oyster Festival. In the winter, Montreal restaurants dedicate an entire week to celebrate our favorite provincial dish: Poutine. Whatever your tastes, Montreal has it ready for you.

Fun

With the joie de vivre at the core of every Montreal activity, finding things to do in this city isn’t very hard. In fact, trying to figure out an itinerary to hit up every Montreal event will leave you exhausted. Montreal is a city of festivals!

From the International Jazz festival, The Just for Laughs comedy festival, to Osheaga (which all happen in the brief summer window), to Montreal’s Igloofest and Montreal en Lumière in the winter months, the city has a knack of getting you to have a good time. During the summer, visit one of the city’s many parks and spend the day lounging, or hit up Mount Royal’s famous drum circle Tam-Tams and spend the day lounging and picnicking! Whatever it is, you’re bound to have a good time.

Joie de Vivre

This is it. This is the magic formula. No matter the language or the slang, Montreal has the joie de vivre that can’t be found anywhere else. Though cold in the winter and blistering hot in the summer, every element that makes Montreal unique comes together to produce a culture that fosters this sweet love and zest for life.

Have you visited Montreal? If so, what was your favorite part?
